  • I guess there's a reason no one has really attempted to put this kind of game on a handheld before -- the little digital controls make it tricky to move accurately
  • . I gave it a spin on VisualBoy Advance on the big screen with my full size gamepad, and it's much easier to work with in that mode. This will be great with the Cube controller on the TV through the GBA player.
  • It runs at a SNES-like resolution, except with texture-mapped polygons, so it looks much better than the SNES Wing Commander games, which were based on WC1, not WC5 like this one.
  • It looks almost as good as Wing Commander III on the Playstation One or 3DO system. Sound and music are fine, and the "story" is vintage Wing Commander, albeit told with static text screens instead of FMV or cartoons.
  • This is pretty much just a "dancing bear" for me -- I'm so thrilled to have it at all, that I don't really care about form.
If you like space action games, and you want to play them on the road, this is the one for you. I'd like to see more games in this genre for portables.
